Among the various events planned for the 4th BRICS Film Festival, the first ones are the four intensive courses on Chinese, Indian, South African, and Russian and Soviet film history, which will be taught by specially invited film experts from these countries. Classes will be in English, and simultaneous translation into Portuguese will be available.
\nChinese Film History
\nThe Chinese film history course, with Prof. Shi Chuan (Shanghai Theatre Academy), will be held from 23rd to 27th September, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
\nIndian Film History
\nThe Indian film history course, with Prof. Ashish Rajadhyaksha (Centre for the Study of Culture & Society), will be held from 23rd to 27th September, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
\nPlease note: The Chinese and Indian film courses will be on the same days and times.
\nSouth African Film History
\nThe South African film history course, with Prof. Martin Botha (University of Cape Town), will be held from 23rd to 27th September, Monday to Friday, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
\nRussian and Soviet Film History
\nThe Russian and Soviet film history course, with Prof. Peter Bagrov (George Eastman Museum), will be held from 30th September to 2nd October, Monday to Wednesday, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

\nA proportion of vacancies will be soon available to anyone interested, free of charge, upon prior registration via the event website. Registration for vacancies reserved for film students and students of other courses at UFF are already available through the online system (Course GCV00295, do not mind the days / times / syllabus in the system). Please note that:
\nAll courses have a 30-hour workload and require attendance at the 4th BRICS Film Festival screenings related to the country whose course the student is enrolled. Vacancies are limited – registration does not automatically guarantee participation in the course. At this time, each UFF student can only enrol in one course through the online system. In case there are remaining vacancies, enrolment in a second course will be allowed during the readjustment period.
