Sinopse

TARIKH [A TIMELINE] explores the mundane, yet exquisite nature of human bonds, through the everyday lives of three friends, and shows how social media affects their lives. Anirban, a professor and an idealist, teaches his students to protest by debating, not vandalizing, and uses social media to inspire. Ira, his wife, is a conformist addicted to social media. Rudrangshu, their old friend, is a sanguine realist, and plays the role of a “real” friend to them. When Anirban dies suddenly, Ira tries to keep him ‘alive’ by ‘talking’ to him through messages on facebook. She goes through his facebook posts, and touches a side of Anirban that she had made no effort to understand when he had been alive. The film explores the transience of life, and immortality through lives that have been touched. It mourns the death of ‘isms’ and free-thinkers, but also lays hope for the leaders of the future. TARIKH [A TIMELINE] is not just about any date, but about every date that we lose from our lives as we look at our screens, instead of making a meaningful difference in the real world.
