The full programme of the 4th BRICS Film Festival, held by the Fluminense Federal University (UFF) in cooperation with the City Government of Niterói, is now available at https://bricsfilmfestival.com.br/en/schedule/. The free event, offering plenty of activities to the public, will take place from 23 September to 9 October in several venues in Niterói, with the institutional support of the Brazilian Film Agency (ANCINE) and the sponsorship of the Special Secretariat of Culture at the Ministry of Citizenship.
“The aim of the BRICS Film Festival is to highlight past, present, and future cinema from the member states with events that explore their film histories, focus on professional training and reveal new talents from each of the five nations,” explained event coordinator India Mara Martins, a professor at UFF’s Department of Film and Video.
The programme features a film residency, meetings, forums, exhibitions, courses on Russian and Soviet, Chinese, Indian, and South African film history, as well as screenings of films from the five countries of the group: Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. Screenings are scheduled from 3 to 9 October at CineArte UFF and Reserva Cultural. The Competition Awards and Closing Ceremony will be held on 9 October at 8:00 pm.
