On Friday 4th October at 7 pm, the first of three screenings of Humberto Mauro’s Rough Diamond (1933) took place with a live performance of the original film score by UFF’s Orquestra Sinfônica Nacional (National Symphony Orchestra). The feature film is part of the BRICS Classics section held at Cine Arte UFF.
Conducted by Thiago Santos, the concert was attended by the University’s Rector, Antonio Cláudio Lucas da Nóbrega, the Vice-Rector, Fábio Passos, the UFF Arts Center Superintendent, Leonardo Guelman, the Festival Coordinator, India Mara Martins, and by curators and guests.
At the end of the presentation, the audience gave the UFF orchestra a standing ovation.
Rough Diamond will be screened again on 5 and 6 October at 10:30 am, with free admission.
